On A Personal Note

I am nestled in a small city that is tucked up against the gorgeous Rocky Mountain range. My life revolves around family, faith, serving my community, a good book on a stormy afternoon, and attending the many activities that my five girls are involved in. My husband and I strive daily to embrace the chaos and manage the girl power in our home! On date nights we love to try new local restaurants, local entertainment, or just walk on local nature paths. We facilitate a small zoo in our home with two dogs that prefer napping, one dog that prefers anything but napping, a ball python that stretches out for us once in awhile, a fluffy bunny, and a majestic jumping horse. While life is busy, we are learning that kids grow fast and being present in their lives is priority.

For the past 16 years I have been in the world of education, specifically in dyslexia therapy. While I have a passion for education and teaching I did not have the flexibility that my family needed. As my kids grew, so did their needs and the demands on my time. I want to be there for every cross country meet, soccer game, dance performance, and horse show and teaching throughout the day and well into the evenings did not allow for that. When I finished a teaching day I was exhausted and grumpy.

It was time for a change. I started exploring new options and found that I really enjoyed bookkeeping. I love the community of small businesses and non-profit organizations! You are the heart of a strong community- doing extraordinary work, often with limited resources. My hope is that with strong financial systems in place you will have more time and resources to stay focused where it matters most: on the people your business serves, the causes you support, and the communities where you thrive.
